Opening & Closing Images
I love how the opening proposal and ending ceremony bookend the film. It feels like they both want to be framed in a special/ unique way that sits outside of the rest of the film. It got me thinking about close ups that Jonathan Demme is sometimes known for. They are extremely intimate, almost looking straight into camera.
The one other scene I could see using this style is the “mutual gential studying” scene, my favorite scene in the script.
